Hearing Protection

Did you know that about one in eight workers across nine noisy industries has hearing loss? Noise-induced hearing loss and hearing loss that occurs at many job sites are almost always preventable. The only way to prevent hearing loss from happening in the first place is to protect your hearing. Protecting your hearing can seem like a daunting task, especially because we live in a noisy world. At The Hearing Doctors, we are here to help you navigate through the noisy world with ease, comfort and safety. With myriad hearing protection options available, you’ll find the right choice for your lifestyle and budget.

Types of hearing protection

The Hearing Doctors provide many options for individuals in need of hearing protection. Custom-made hearing protection is for everyone. After all, our world is full of noisy environments. Custom-made hearing protection is suitable for:

  • Anyone who has difficulty sleeping due to loud noises
  • Motorsports attendees
  • Swimmers
  • Surfers
  • Employees in the manufacturing industries
  • Concert attendees
  • Anyone who listens to music through earbuds regularly
  • Musicians
  • Hunters

There are two main types of hearing protection: earplugs and earmolds. Both are made of soft, squishy materials that are made to fit perfectly inside your ear. Over-the-counter options of both are available at many drug stores and pharmacies, but those choices fail to provide the exact seal and snug fit that the custom-made products from The Hearing Doctors provide.

Custom earplugs and earmolds

Custom earplugs are made to fit the contour of the inner ear while custom earmolds are made to fit the counter of the entire ear. Custom earmolds, because of their larger size, typically offer a more secure and efficient hearing protection. Earmolds are available in full-shell or half-shell sizes. Full-shell earmolds are suitable for high-level noise environments, while half-shell earmolds are suitable for mid-level noise environments. Both types of hearing protection are available, either soft or spongy. Custom earmolds can be attached to a filtered attenuator, which enables sound to travel while still protecting your ears. Musicians often use filtered attenuators to hear music while still protecting their ears.

If you’re a musician, swimmer or someone who works in manufacturing, contact us today for custom hearing protection. The Hearing Doctors provides all custom hearing protection needs to help your hearing now and into the future.
