There are two main types of hearing protection: earplugs and earmolds. Both are made of soft, squishy materials that are made to fit perfectly inside your ear. Custom earplugs are made to fit the contour of the inner ear while custom earmolds are made to fit the counter of the entire ear. Full-shell earmolds are suitable for high-level noise environments, while half-shell earmolds are suitable for mid-level noise environments.
